Update on my not Broken Toe

So a week and a day following my x-ray and visit to the doc about what I had thought was a broken toe, I am on the path to feeling much better. The pain has diminished to a tiny fraction of the initial days and the color has returned to a normal pink.

Over the past two days I have returned to light exercise, but not stretching in the manner that might reintroduce harm to my recovering toe. Stationary biking is back, but only a few km per day.

Last night I began watching a new series on Netflix: The Decameron, which seems to be based on Boccaccio’s work, but as I haven’t read that tale of 14th century plague years. I’m not sure what liberties are being taken with the script. Plenty, I’d bet. Perhaps the series might prepare us for the next strain of Covid. Gather some baked goods and your servants and head to some lord’s estate in the Italian countryside.

ETA: After completing the series I give it a 7.5 in comparison with other offerings on Netflix and a 6.8 in general, which is still above its IMDB rating. I’d be willing to compare it to Pier Paolo Pasolini’s 1971 version, but that’s on MGM via subscription only. One can definitely see how Chaucer was influenced by Bocaccio’s work.
