Bali Myna

There’s no mistaking the Bali myna (or starling or Rothschild’s Mynah) from others in their species. They are critically endangered due to people keeping them illegally as caged birds and because their habitat has been eroded by coconut plantations. For that reason, I’m not going say where I photographed these, which are not in a private collector’s facility. For those in the US, they can be seen at the San Diego Zoo. The total wild population is said to number in the hundreds.
