A visit to Macau
Photos of Macau in black and white (mostly) using my Canon and a Tokina f/2.8 11-16 zoom wide angle lense. We tried to dine at the "finest" Portuguese restaurant in the city, but it was fully booked and I wasn't quite sure our casual day visitor attire would fit in, so we settled for a noodle shop, which was quite good. I've had Portuguese food many times and while I enjoyed it, it was no mystery to me. There's only so much bacalhau one can consume in a lifetime and I've had my fill.
The streets in the old city were auto-free, but extremely crowded.
Defensive fortifications were part of any colonial endeavor. Wheeling heavy artillery to higher ground was a must.
Other than the casinos the main attraction in is 17th-century St. Paul's church, which was almost entirely destroyed in a fire in 1835 (in a typhoon).
