Himeji Castle

A sketch of Himeji Castle on iPad Pro. Akira Kurosawa sets his movie Ran in and around this, Japan's oldest castle, which dates back to 1333. The skies were overcast when we visited. But I chose to have a blue sky in this little rendering. I also prefer this version to my initial ink outliner sketch of the castle. That one was one of my first and done in great haste. The people at the base of this sketch of Himeji Castle on iPad Pro are there to provide scale.

Himeji is also the name of the city where this tourist attraction is located. It is located 46km west of Kobe City or about an hour by train.
